Are you worried because you're overthinking?
Welcome to the video series that's all about climbing the ladder of vibration and manifesting the life of your dreams. I'm Stephanie Mulac, and today we are going to take a look at a worst case scenario exercise that I want you to perform every time you start to worry or stress about something.
Now here's the thing. So often in life, we have the tendency to worry, worry, worry. Something happens or we think that something may be about to happen and we start worrying about it. But the one thing that happens so often is that our worst fears are not ever realized.
And if you don't stop and take a look at the situation and put it into this perspective, sometimes you can be worrying for no reason at all, and imagining the worst thing that could possibly happen.
But if you stop and allow yourself to take a moment and say, all right, what is really the worst thing that can happen and then if you truthfully answer that question, oftentimes you're going to see that the reality is that it's nowhere near as bad is what you might be imagining it to be.
So let's take a few examples. Let's say that you have a bill that's coming due at the end of the month and you're not sure where you're going to get the money to pay that bill.
And while that's a stressful situation, if you stop and ask yourself: “Okay, if I don't have the money, what is the worst case scenario that's going to happen? I may have to pick up the phone and ask for an extension. I may have to make two payments instead of one. I may have to maybe even get a part-time job if I don't have the money by that point, or if I can't get an extension.”
But in all of these cases, the worst case scenario is that the world is not going to end within 10 minutes of when that due date arrives, and you are not going to crumble into oblivion.
So while it may be stressful and while it may be hanging over your head or hanging on your shoulders and weighing heavy on you, oftentimes when you put it into perspective like this, you realize that it is not as bad as it seems on the surface and at face value.
Let's take another example. Let's say that you are worried about whether or not you're going to be passed over at work for a raise. Well, what's going to happen if you don't get the raise? Is there an opportunity for overtime, perhaps? Is there an opportunity for you to do less work, and maybe add some other duties or add in a part-time job elsewhere, or something like that?
There's so many other things that could supplement whatever that worst case scenario is, that it really in the end doesn't matter as much as our brains sometimes make us think it does.
So try this exercise for yourself and think about the worst case scenario in multiple instances. And let me know what you think below in terms of how it works for you to put it all into perspective and keep moving forward toward your dreams.
