TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE ON FORTITUDE

Friday, 09 May 2025

Courage is yours, but it grows with practice. Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance, and find the strength within yourself to move forward.

Let My word be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path. Keep strong, even in hard times, and My word is all you need to maneuver through any difficulties that come your way. Of course, I instilled fortitude within you from before you were born.

However, existence on the earthly plane is a heavy burden to bear at times. People experience all kinds of trials and tribulations, often ones that seem insurmountable. It can be a complicated journey to find fortitude within yourself, despite it being a God given right.

Teach Inner Strength

Move not from a place of fear, but of courage. You cannot expect the world around you to operate from a spirit of righteousness if you do not first do so yourself.

In nearly every Biblical implication of fortitude, the heroes had to overcome an obstacle with fear being their first instinctive move. Fear is a normal human emotion, but it is still not My way, so I encourage My children to move past it.

Think of the virtuous woman from the Book of Proverbs. “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” (Proverbs 31:6) She is admired by all around her, including her husband, who says, “‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’” (Proverbs 31:29)

Of course, she does not live courageously, moving with Christian fortitude, for self-serving or selfish reasons. Instead, she knows: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)

It Takes Time

My child, have you ever noticed how some flowers burst forth with vibrant colors overnight, while others take longer to reveal their beauty? Christian fortitude is much the same. It's a strength that resides within you, a seed waiting to sprout.

Don't be disheartened if it doesn't seem to bloom immediately. Just like a gardener cultivates a rose bush, you too can nurture your fortitude. This might mean stepping outside your comfort zone, facing challenges that make you tremble. But know this, with each test you overcome, your courage will grow like sturdy stems, reaching for the light.

Trust me, child. My plans, like the unfolding of a magnificent rose, take time. But with each step you take in faith, your fortitude will blossom, a testament to the unwavering spirit I have placed within you.

Reflect on these words today

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

But when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.
