TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE ON TEMPERANCE

Saturday, 26 April 2025

Temperance is not an outdated practice, and it can elevate your experience with your faith.

I speak to you now, not from a bygone era, but from the wellspring of all time. Temperance, the practice of moderation and self-control, is not a relic of the past, but a timeless principle woven into the very fabric of creation.

Many misunderstand temperance, associating it solely with the struggles of the Prohibition Era. Yet, temperance is a far grander concept. It is the guiding light that allows you to navigate the world with wisdom, a cornerstone I placed within the hearts of all My creations.

Consider the joy of fellowship, the laughter that flows over shared drinks. I understand the allure of such gatherings. But true freedom, My children, lies not in fleeting pleasures, but in the strength to overcome them for a greater purpose. It lies in the mastery of your desires, allowing you to grow spiritually and draw closer to My light.

Finding Peace Through Temperance

The path of temperance may seem arduous. You may witness others indulging without immediate consequence. But remember, My sight pierces the veil of time. Choices, both wise and foolish, have repercussions that ripple through this life and beyond.

Your resolve will be tested. Doubt will whisper in your ear, questioning the merit of temperance. But look beyond the immediate. Temperance is not a burden, but a gift. It allows you to care for the body I have entrusted to you, a vessel meant to reflect My glory.

Temperance is not about wielding control with an iron fist. It is about maximizing the potential of your earthly experience. By exercising self-control, you make choices with foresight, avoiding the impulsive snares that ensnare so many in this modern age.

A Path to My Kingdom

While temperance, for My faithful followers, is intertwined with the avoidance of sin, its benefits extend far and wide. It fosters a wellspring of mental and physical well-being, a testament to the interconnectedness of all things.

The world often beckons with a siren song of excess and fleeting pleasures. By tempering these desires, you not only strengthen your faith, but also safeguard the very essence of who you are – mind, body, and spirit.

Live with purpose, My children. Live not just for the fleeting pleasures of the present, but for the eternal joy that awaits you in My Kingdom. Choose temperance, and walk the path towards a life that truly glorifies Me.

Reflect on these words today

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

— Romans 13:14

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit

— Ephesians 5:18
