TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE ON PRUDENCE
Saturday, 26 April 2025
I expect you to live by My values, but I do not expect you to completely abandon reality.

There are many conversations to be had about what being a “good Christian” entails. A good Christian walks every day with my beliefs at the forefront of what they do—but still, that can become confusing.
Especially in the modern age, my values are a bit different than what they used to be, though their core principles will always be the same. Some Christians fear that if they make a mistake or need to be corrected that it’s game over; this is the farthest thing from the truth. I welcome and encourage mistakes since they foster your growth!
Using Discernment Makes You Stronger
Discernment and prudence are synonymous. You need both to live a healthy Christian lifestyle. Prudence provides my children the ability to act confidently on their assessments of reality. You can take situations, figure them out, and take conscious actions.
Don’t get prudence confused with utilitarianism, though! These two concepts sound similar, but are completely opposite.
Prudence allows my world to blend with yours. You cannot see what I do on the heavenly plane with your naked human eye. I, however, can see everything that goes on in your world. This gives me a bit of an advantage, but I ultimately use that advantage to guide you on your path to holiness.
Acting as a prudent Christian allows you to not only make the right decisions for me, but for your brothers and sisters. You can discern reality from fiction, ultimately providing you with leverage to conquer the modern world as a modern Christian.
It’s important to remember that prudence is not foresight. It gives you the wisdom to use foresight to assess a situation, but it doesn’t predict on its own— you do that.
Prudence Avoids Relativism
Ultimately, you can use prudence to move through this big, new world as a modern Christian. You don’t need to abandon traditional Christian morals and beliefs, but instead apply them to modern reality.
Prudent Christians are more important now than ever before, as the world is changing around you at an alarming pace!
Reflect on these words today
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
— John 16:13
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
— 2 Peter 3:9
