TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE ON LOVE

Sunday, 06 July 2025

Love thy neighbor with everything you possibly have to give, as you would hope the same for yourself.

Think about the way that you love. Evaluate the limitations or restrictions you may impose upon your love, and analyze how you can make it unconditional instead. I guide you to love with no strings attached and no expectations. I encourage you to love committedly.

Most people don’t take inventory about the way that they love others, at least not frequently or deeply. They may have passing thoughts of their impact on the world around them, but it’s not given much more than a second thought.

And that’s okay!

But, in order to love in a godly way, your love must be self-aware.

How Does God Love?

I love blindly, without consideration for race, nor gender, nor creed. I especially do not see status, nor money, nor power. These human-made, fictional qualities mean very little to me, as they are standards that are designed to uphold societal hierarchies, which can be horribly rigid.

The amount of money you have or make, generally, means very little to me; unless your physical assets are being used to spread resources to communities, I think very little of what you have. You could be the richest person on the planet, but if you are not loving in a godly way, that “wealth” will not matter to me.

My children should all try to love each other in a godly way. I do not expect you to always get along with everybody, as that’s unrealistic. However, you should always be kind to everyone, even if you cannot be their friend.

Love transcends boundaries that are difficult for most people to comprehend because it comes in many different forms. Romantic, platonic, and familial love are all important.

You should prioritize each of your relationships in a balanced way, ensuring that everyone you care about feels your unconditional love.

Love Yourself to Love Others

The old adage is true. You have to love yourself at least a little bit before you can spread unconditional love to those around you.

Simply put: if you cannot find unconditional love within yourself, how are you going to know what that looks like when you’re sending it to others?

Practice relentless, unconditional self-love, and the rest will follow without much thought.

Reflect on these words today

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

— 1 Corinthians 13:13

We love because He first loved us.
