TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE ON HOPE
Sunday, 22 December 2024
This difficult, emotional period is only temporary. Be gracious with yourself as you move through it.
My sweet child, I am sorry you are feeling down on your luck. It can be difficult to keep your hopes up high when your head is down low. Don’t let current circumstances make you forget where you’re going, though!
I have great plans for you, my child, even if you cannot quite see them yet. Right now you’re tired, possibly hungry, waiting for an end in sight. Thankfully, one is near, you simply must hold out hope for a few moments longer.
This Struggle is Not for Nothing
My dear, what you can’t see ahead of you is still there, though it can be tough to see without any physical proof. I am sending some soon, but you have to trust that during these trying times, I always have a much bigger plan.
Try to focus less on the material world and more on the spiritual. I am always teaching you valuable lessons, but I cannot force you to pay attention to them! For example, if I send you a sign, you must trust that it was for you and not consume yourself with doubt.
Humans are too good at worrying. It’s time to take a deep breath, ground yourself, and remember that I sent you here to fulfill a purpose! It doesn’t need to make sense to you now, but you must have hope that everything that is happening now is there for a reason. I would never put you through anything that you cannot take in stride.
Give Yourself a Break Sometimes
Societal standards weigh too heavily on my children. They are often encouraged to bite off more than they can chew, which tends to be what causes them to lose hope.
However, if you learn how and when to give yourself breaks, you can overcome this societal struggle easily.
All it takes is a bit of balance.
You were never meant to accomplish everything all at once. Instead, think of each moment of your life like a chapter in the Bible. Every page leads to a higher purpose or serves to explain a deeper lesson. Interpret each moment like you would those lessons, and see how easily your hope gets restored!
Reflect on these words today
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
— Jeremiah 29:12-13
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
— Romans 8:24-25
