TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Sunday, 22 December 2024

Show your commitment to Me not only through words, but by living out your dedication in all you do.

Commitment is a core principle and value of Christianity. A true Christian life is marked by unwavering commitment and devotion to Me. If you consider yourself My child, you must be prepared to make and maintain these commitments.

True commitment involves sacrifice; it is costly and demands steadfast devotion. It is insufficient to merely claim commitment; you must demonstrate it through your words, actions, love for others, and service to Me.

The Principles of Commitment

It is easy to lose sight of the work I have entrusted to you as My child. It is easy to become distracted and to think that because I have called you to a life of love and grace, your commitment to Me is inconsequential.

But, dear child, love embodies commitment. If you profess to love Me, you must demonstrate it through your commitment. It is easy to say you love Me, yet disregard the principles of prayer, studying My word, preaching the gospel, loving your neighbor, and walking in My light. When you are truly committed to Me, every decision you make in life will flow from that commitment.

Making Commitment a Life Goal

When you're committed to Me, you will involve Me in all your decisions. You will seek My guidance before taking any action to ensure it aligns with My will. You will incorporate Me into both the significant and minor events of your life, and you will seek My counsel at every step.

When you're truly committed, you will adhere to My purposes and plans for your life. You will represent Me in every situation you encounter. You will prioritize My service over your reputation, focusing more on your devotion to Me.

Commitment, Not Contribution

A Pig and a Chicken were walking into a restaurant and they saw the breakfast menu: Ham and Eggs.* *The chicken excitedly said, "That is my contribution to society," but the pig answered, "That might be your contribution, but it's my commitment."

Dear child, are you merely a contributor to My work, or are you truly committed? When I sent My only son to die for you, that was My eternal commitment to you. It was not an easy sacrifice, but I was willing to make it because of the depth of My love for you. Are you withholding your devotion and commitment to Me because you seek the fleeting gains and material things of this world? Is your so-called commitment just an occasional appearance, only to leave when things get tough? How do you proclaim My name to the world? How many people have you told about your reason for believing in Me?

Choose commitment today by building a relationship with Me through prayer. Study your Bible to know Me more. Serve in your church in the capacity I have called you to, and stay committed to My work even when it is inconvenient. Stay committed; it will be worth it in the end.

Reflect on these words today

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

— Matthew 6:33

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

— 1 Corinthians 15:58
